Pin this recipe!Boursin Cheese Pasta is an easy and flavourful dish that combines rich, herb-infused cheese with roasted tomatoes and perfectly cooked pasta. A beautiful meal that’s quick enough for weeknights!
This recipe is an adaptation of my reader favourite Baked Feta Chicken Pasta, which is a delicious take on the famous TikTok Baked Feta Pasta. Not everyone loves feta cheese, so this recipe is a great alternative!

Why we love this recipe
Ingredients & Substitutions
Here’s what you’ll need to make this Baked Boursin Cheese Pasta recipe. Find the complete recipe with measurements in the recipe card below.
- Farfalle pasta – also called bow tie pasta. You can substitute any short pasta that will “grab” the creamy sauce, like rotini or fusilli.
- Boursin cheese – one 5.3oz package. We use the garlic & fine herbs variety, but you can experiment with other flavours!
- Cherry tomatoes – or grape tomatoes, pair beautifully with Boursin to create an amazing sauce.
- Red onion – for flavour and colour, but you can leave it out if you don’t love onion. You can also sub shallots.
- Garlic – because the garlic in the Boursin just isn’t enough (haha).
- Olive oil
- Oregano, kosher salt and ground black pepper
- Fresh basil – optional, but highly recommended.

How to make it
First, preheat your oven to 400 °F and place the Boursin, tomatoes, onion and garlic in a 9×13 baking dish. Drizzle olive oil over the tomatoes and add the oregano, salt and pepper. Toss to ensure the veggies are evenly coated in oil and seasonings. Place the oven to bake for 25-30 minutes.
Meanwhile, prepare the pasta according to package instructions. Be sure to reserve half a cup of pasta cooking water to thin the sauce.

Once the tomatoes are bursting and onions are softened, stir the cheese and tomatoes together right in the casserole dish, squishing the tomatoes a bit as you go. Add sliced basil, if using, then add the cooked pasta to the cheese mixture and continue to gently mix until the pasta is nicely coated in sauce. Slowly add a bit of the reserved pasta cooking water to thin the sauce, if needed.

Serve immediately, garnished with more fresh basil and parmesan cheese. This Boursin pasta recipe pairs nicely with a simple green side salad. Enjoy!
Tips for success

Can I add chicken to this recipe?
Absolutely! I added chicken to my Baked Feta Pasta and it’s so delicious and easy to do. In short, you include chicken breasts in the casserole dish along with the cheese and tomatoes, and increase the cook time to ensure the chicken is fully cooked. See the Notes section in the recipe card below for detailed instructions.

Boursin Cheese Pasta

Ingredients
- 1 5.3-ounce package garlic & fine herbs Boursin cheese (see note 2)
- 2 pints cherry tomatoes (about 20 ounces)
- ¼ cup thinly sliced red onion
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt (plus more to taste after cooking)
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- 8 ounces uncooked bow tie pasta (farfalle) (fusilli or rotini work nicely too!)
- ¼ cup thinly sliced fresh basil leaves (optional, but recommended)
- Optional garnish: freshly grated parmesan cheese, more fresh basil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400 °F. In a 9×13-inch ceramic casserole dish, place the Boursin cheese in the middle of the dish, then surround it with the cherry tomatoes, red onion and garlic.
- Drizzle the olive oil on top of the vegetables and season them with oregano, salt, and pepper. Use your hands to gently coat the vegetables in the oil and seasonings.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes, or until tomatoes start to burst and the onion softens.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta according to the package instructions. Reserve a half cup of cooking liquid to thin the sauce. Set the cooked pasta and reserved pasta water aside.
- Stir the cheese and tomatoes in the casserole dish, gently squishing the tomatoes. Add the sliced fresh basil, if using, and stir until evenly distributed, then add the cooked pasta and toss until evenly coated in sauce. Slowly add pasta water to help thin the sauce to your desired consistency (I only needed ¼ cup).
- Serve immediately with more fresh basil and parmesan cheese, if desired. Store any leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator and eat within 4 days.
Notes
- Adapted from my Baked Feta Chicken Pasta.
- To experiment with flavours you can use another variety of Boursin.
- To add chicken: before baking, season two 8-ounce chicken breasts with salt and pepper, then place in the casserole dish on either side of the Boursin cheese, then surround the chicken and cheese with the tomatoes, onion and garlic. Coat the chicken in the olive oil and seasonings, along with the tomatoes (you may need a bit more oil). Increase the baking time to about 35 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F in the thickest part of the breast.

Wonderful to hear, Pat!
We made this and used browned ground Italian sausage and added thinly sliced mixed bell peppers to the recipe as well. It was delicious!
Those additions sound wonderful! Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
So easy and tastier than the feta version.
So glad you enjoyed it, Julia!
Delicious recipe… I added cooked shrimps to it for a variety …. It was very good… Will try it with chicken next time…
Great idea to add shrimp! So glad you enjoyed it!
My ultimate favorite 😍
So happy to hear you love the recipe, Marinda!
I sauteed the onions and garlic in olive oil and little butter before adding and tossing the tomatoes. I had frozen basil/parmesan cubes so used those instead of fresh. (used 3 small cubes…didn’t have enough fresh) I added a bit more olive oil over the boursin cheese. Used spices as directed in recipe. 🙂 Made the sauce early and reheated on the range before tossing with the bow tie pasta. Parmesan sprinkled on top. Soooo good. Thanks for the recipe.
So glad you loved it!
Super easy and delicious. I sautéed 2 lbs of ground hot sausage. Big hit.
it was easy, quick, and delicious. I added spinach for a healthy addition.

Yummy
I made it tonight with GF pasta, which tasted great! Additionally, I added sautéed mushrooms & zucchini. So good! Thanks for sharing this great recipe!
So happy you enjoyed the recipe, Kim! Those additions sound amazing!
Have been wanting to try a recipe with the Boursin cheese and really like this one. I added cut up zucchini and substituted chopped regular tomatoes for the cherry tomatoes, but otherwise followed the recipe.
The addition of zucchini sounds delicious, Karen! Very summery 🙂 So glad you enjoyed the recipe!
Oh my word! I love this ❣️ I used the Rosemary & Black Garlic Boursin and I added 5 cubed chicken thighs. I used a specialty noodle I found in a gourmet store (looks like mini lasagna noodles). Since the chicken was in small pieces I did not have to cook any longer than the original recipe AND did not have to add any of the pasta water (juice from chicken must have helped there). This is a recipe worth serving in a Michelin 5star restaurant!!!
This review made my day, Diana! Thrilled to hear you loved it! And thanks for sharing how you added the cubed chicken thighs!
This was delicious
Thrilled you enjoyed it, Susie!
